abstract

Phytosociology of decidious forest zeen oak (Quercus canariensis Willd.) in the Ath Ghobri-Akfadou mountain (Grande Kabylie, Algeria). The authors undertake a phytosocilogical analysis of the zeen oak (Quercus canariensis Willd.) forest in the Ath Ghobri-Akfadou mountain. A better floristic knowledge allowed to describe a new subassociation: Rubo incanescentis-Quercetum canariensis Quézel 1956 em. Aimé et al. 1986 aceretosum obtusati subass.nov. revealing the best kept aspect of the supramediterranean zeen oak forest. It follows the mesomediterranean zeen oak forest: Chrysanthemo fontanesii-Quercetum canariensis ass.nov. of mid and low altitudes.
The affinities and analogies of these two zeen oak forests of Grande Kabylia together with numidian even north-african zeen oak forests have been apprehended.
